Herb-e-Concept Coral Calcium protects living reefs using only fossilized coral from deposits located above sea level on Okinawa Island. The coral, located above the water line, is free from heavy metals and other toxins that industrialized society has dumped into the oceans. The coral comes from the land where the ocean was, over 100 million years ago.

Fossilized or marine corals?
We favor coral over the sea for the following reasons:
Marine coral is basically sand that contains a mixture of coral, seashells, silica, rock, and marine life. It is exhumed from the ocean floor via a 250 'industrial dredging vessel down a large pipe to the ocean floor and vacuuming. This process brings hundreds of tons of sand, corals, seashells, marine flora and fauna to the ship's deck. There is no way to separate the sand from the coral. Marine coral is therefore a mixture that would be more precisely called “coral sand”. During heat treatment, calcium changes from the crystalline form of aragonite to the calcite form. The aragonite form of our coral above the sea is more crystalline and has a higher density than calcite.
According to Professor Yoshino Yamauchi of the Aragonite Institute in Japan, “The ionization process of aragonite fossil coral is 6 times greater than that of calcite. Calcium from fossil coral also has a much greater electrical conductivity ... it is capable of triggering an immediate chemical reaction whenever the body calls for it ”.
